Soft Sounds of Solitude

January 10, 2016

I have never been afraid to be alone in nature. In fact, I crave the quiet corners of this world where birdsong reigns. For in those corners my spirit soars, and I feel closest to God.

Sometimes in the solitude. . .

my mind swoops in and destroys my peace,

eventually Mother Earth lifts me back to joy.

This post is a milestone for me. I used to think I wasn’t good enough to photograph a wild bird.

Your comment about being alone in nature makes me think you’d like a book I’m reading now: The Invention of Nature.
